We are planning our first trip to Ghana!
For all of you who think that you might like to join us on this amazing adventure;
we thought you might like a little information.

Picture

 The total cost is between $2,500 and $3,000. This cost covers the cost of the plane ticket, transportation, food, drinks, and lodging. You do not need any extra money unless you want to buy an awesome gift to bring home.

How does the cost break down? It is pretty simple.

The estimated cost is decided by the following:
1. Cost of flight: Between $1,100-$1,900 (round rip) is the cost depends on what time of the year you travel. *This cost is does not include daily expenses.

2. Cost of daily expenses: The cost per day is approximately $150 per day. Remember this covers EVERYTHING you will need.  *So if the trip is 7 days; then you can figure $150 X 7 =$1050.

3. Do I have to have all of the money at once? No, but you will need to pay a deposit (around $200) once you decide to commit to going. The rest of the cost is due 4 weeks before we travel.

4. What will we be doing in Ghana? Besides having the time of our lives, we will be working with the Touch A Life Center. While we are there we will spend time with the kids and work on various projects or workshops with the kids and staff.

5. Do I have to have training in a specific field? No; everyone is invited to join us. There will be lots of opportunities to participate. All you need is a great attitude and a willingness to help.

6. We are currently in the progress of arranging our date of travel. If you are thinking about traveling with us, it might be helpful for you to look into what is needed to obtain the necessary shots and paperwork. This way you will have lots of time to plan and save.

7. Will I need shots and a visa?  Yes, you will need to get a Yellow Fever shot and a visa to enter Ghana. The visa is obtained after you purchase your ticket. The cost of a visa is approximately $100. Check your local health department for shot information.

8. The fees for the trip are tax deductible. Be sure to check with your local CPA for more information.

If you think you would like to join us please contact us. We would love to answer any questions that you may have concerning the trip. Once the decision is final that you will join us, you will need to complete a background check through Touch A Life.
We want to make sure that we keep all of the kids safe and free from stranger danger.
*Price of cost per day was updated on 3/18/2016.
Date of original trip has been cancelled due to scheduling conflicts,
We are currently in the process of chosing a new date of travel.
